Reasons People Often Give for Leaving the United Church of Canada

1. UnChristian teachings - denying Jesus divinity, denying hell/heaven, denying Lordship of Jesus, goddess worship, denying the uniqueness of Jesus atoning sacrifice. Clergy who once affirmed the Articles of Faith but are now hypocrits who deny them.

2. Lack of time/money commitment from fellow UCC members. Congregations always stapped for cash and exploiting a few hard working people while others just show up on Sunday.

3. Changes in worship - not enough Jesus/Trinity/Father language, worship too "chummy", removal of confession, things always changing for no solid reason.

4. Support for homosexuality/bisexuality/adultery(Open marriage) and other unChristian practices by some leaders in the denomination.

5. Poor/Unfaithful preaching. No references to the Bible. Preaching against the Bible. No sermon at all sometimes.

6. Support for abortion, euthenasia, premarital sex (living together) and other non-Christian practices.

7. Too political. Curriculum/preaching/leadership neglects Biblical formation in favour of primarily social justice issues.

8. Not enough young people and families. Congregations with adults not interested in offering Sunday schools, let alone a youth program.

9. Spiritually cold congregation. Not enough desire by most congregants to change their lives in light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lots of members, but few disciples.

10. Most of my friends left. No one visits me.
